In professional contexts, you will often need to
show that a particular topic holds your interest. You will also often be required to pay careful
attention to what another person is saying. When you are listening to another person speak you may wish to verbally demonstrate that you are
interested in what they are saying, either by asking for
further details, or reacting with interest to the points they are making. For effective communication in the
workplace it is important to understand how to express interest
in what is going on or what is being said. Here
are a number of ways to do so:
These can be used to invite someone to speak or continue to speak, and to express interest in what they have to say.
